Part cabaret, part revival, part fever dream: Easter Extravaganza is a euphoric and slightly distorted spin-off special of Kashia Kancey’s acclaimed Closeties Variety Hour. Sunday’s best, relentless devotion, and, of course, bunnies come together for a vibrant, queer, Easter pageant. Through music, dance, parody, and visual spectacle, the evening channels the surreal drama of Christianity, exploring faith, sacrifice, surrender, and hope. At once reclamation and celebration, Easter Extravaganza invites audiences into a nostalgic, sacred space where black and queer identities are not only welcomed, but centered in the divine narrative. Amen.
For presented performances, Ars Nova takes a flat venue fee to partially subsidize our tech and house staff. Paying more for your ticket goes straight into the pockets of the brilliant artists creating this performance.
The Closties Variety Hour: Easter Extravaganza will stream live from Ars Nova on Ars Nova Supra. Following the live stream, you’ll be able to watch the show on-demand for up to a year. Get a cancel-anytime $15/mo subscription to stream live or on-demand.
