An unabashed celebration of self-love, HEAUX CHURCH combines spirited storytelling, divine music, and all things heaux-ly to heal the parts of ourselves that shame tries to erase. Each night, former pastor’s kid Brandon Kyle Goodman leads the congregation in a rousing service on the birds, the bees and the booty, inviting us to connect and to unleash our inner heaux. It’s the sex talk you never got, but always deserved. Can we get a heaux-llelujah?!

Most recently, Brandon co-hosted the digital E! show called, RE!CAP, where Brandon and co-hosts serve up hot takes on Hollywood’s biggest nights! In Fall 2025, Goodman will hit the stage for an off-Broadway run of their new show heaux church with the award-winning theater company, Ars Nova.

Lisa Owaki Bierman is a director, performer and educator born and (mostly) raised in Los Angeles. She studied acting, lighting design and stage management at NYU and now works as a professional director, performer and educator throughout LA. Her passion is developing original work with artists that have unusual voices. Her shows tend to be immersive or experiential in some way, and she focuses on multi-disciplinary work, variety shows and storytelling. She has created site specific work at the Carousel at the Santa Monica pier, Noah’s Ark at the Skirball and Bob Baker’s Marionette Theater, among others. She most recently developed and directed the dance/theater performance Abbale: Hebrew for Daddy with Bodies in Play, which was presented at ODC in San Francisco as well as the Broadwater in LA.
Ari Grooves is an Artist, DJ, and interstellar force. You’ve seen this “ATLiean” Broadway performer and choreographer in Little Shop of Horrors (Lortel Nom) and Bare (Off Broadway); Holler if Ya Hear Me, Head Over Heels, and covering Tina – she’s the viral “Tina who lost her wig, but kept slaying!” DJ credits: The Delancey, Meridian 23, The Living Room, Iron Bar, Solomon and Kuff, Harlem Nights Bar, Soho House NYC, and many Broadway parties. Ari will be the official DJ for the 75th Annual Tony Awards After Party Gala in 2022. Her album Message From A Wanderer is streaming on all platforms.

This show is wheelchair accessible. If you wish or need to remain in your wheelchair throughout the show, our staff will remove the theater chair. This can be done by letting us know your needs/plans in advance; just email tix@arsnovanyc.com. If you wish to transfer to the theater seat from your wheelchair, we are happy to store your wheelchair or motorized mobility aid in the lobby during the performance. The House Manager will return your mobility device to you at the end of the performance as HEAUX CHURCH has no intermission.
Licensed service animals (any dogs that are trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities) are welcome. They must rest in your seating area throughout the performance and are unable to occupy the aisle. Please bring proof of certification or a license for your service animal and be prepared to present it to the House Manager upon request. You can send advance notice to tix@arsnovanyc.com, which is appreciated, but not required.
Our bathrooms are single-stalled, all-gender restrooms – everyone is welcome to use any bathroom of their choice. We have two single-person restrooms in the lobby; with the wheelchair accessible option located right outside the theater on the first floor (doors 7 feet 10 inches x 3 feet 10.5 inches).
We have space that can be made to offer privacy for feeding should you need at any time. See the House Manager onsite and they will arrange a comfortable space, with storage and refrigeration for your materials.
The audience seating locations are located in the theater.
The seating is a combination of chairs.
Black Chairs with back: 19” wide x 32.25” high x 21.75” deep with a 500lb capacity
Black Counter height: 16.5” wide x 38” high x 18” deep with a 500lb capacity
The doors for entry into the building are 7 feet 10.5 inches x 3 feet 7 inches (external) and 7 feet 10 inches x feet 10.5 inches (internal).
Box Office height is 3 feet 6 inches and the Bar height is 3 feet 8.5 inches.

The show runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
Yes, but as tickets are general admission: arrive early, nab the best seats, and leave yourself a little extra time to arrive and use the restroom before the show begins.
All sales are final – there are no refunds or exchanges.
