Hailes: Live is an intimate evening of music that blends R&B, jazz, and soul with the theatricality of high-concept performance. Fresh off a sold-out hometown show at the American Jazz Museum and a feature on NPR, Kansas City–born, NYC-based artist Hailes brings her powerful voice and fearless storytelling to the Ars Nova stage for the very first time.
Performing songs from her forthcoming EP FIVE, Hailes moves through themes of longing, heartbreak, desire, and transformation — crafting a set that is both vulnerable and cinematic. With lush arrangements, dynamic lighting, and an atmosphere that feels part concert, part ritual, the night invites audiences into a world where music becomes a form of confession, connection, and release.
For presented performances, Ars Nova takes a flat venue fee to partially subsidize our tech and house staff. Paying more for your ticket goes straight into the pockets of the brilliant artists creating this performance.
HAILES: Live will stream live from Ars Nova on Ars Nova Supra. Following the live stream, you’ll be able to watch the show on-demand for up to a year. Get a cancel-anytime $15/mo subscription to stream live or on-demand.
Hailes (Lindsey Hailes) is a Kansas City–born, NYC-based multidisciplinary artist, singer-songwriter, and performer whose work bridges R&B, jazz, theatre, and high-concept performance. A Broadway alum (Hadestown), Hailes has emerged as one of the most compelling new voices in independent music, crafting songs that weave intimacy, storytelling, and emotional grit.
In 2025, she sold out her first hometown solo show at the American Jazz Museum and was featured on NPR, affirming her growing impact as both a recording and live artist. Her forthcoming EP, FIVE, is an intimate cycle of songs tracing longing, heartbreak, desire, and renewal. Across five tracks, she blends R&B, jazz, and soul influences into a sound that is both vulnerable and cinematic, guiding listeners through emotional turbulence toward reclamation and self-discovery.
Hailes is the recipient of a fiscal sponsorship through Fractured Atlas, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts service organization. This sponsorship supports her multidisciplinary project, Acts of Becoming, an evolving body of work that weaves together music, performance, and storytelling to explore identity and transformation. All contributions made through Fractured Atlas are tax-deductible and go directly toward the creation of new music, live shows, and immersive artistic experiences.
