THE CREATIVES

VINNY DEPONTO (Creator, Co-Writer), a Brooklyn-based magician and mind-reader, has been lying to audiences for over a decade. His love of sleight of hand and mental theatrics has consumed most of his life. His first evening length stage show Mysterious Delights premiered at Ars Nova’s ANT Fest in 2012. When not performing at on stage or at the private affairs of NY’s elite, he writes and consults for shows on HBO and the Discovery Channel. JOSH KOENIGSBERG’s (Co-Writer) plays have been produced/developed at Ars Nova, The Atlantic Theater, Naked Angels, The Old Vic, The Public Theater, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Williamstown Theater Festival and others.  His plays include Al’s Business CardsDance Lessons, The Mnemonist of Dutchess County (all published by Samuel French), Herman Kline’s Midlife Crisis (published by Indie Theater Now) and Whiffman On The Mound (Winner of the inaugural Alec Baldwin Fellowship).  He has written for the 24 Hour Plays/Musicals, Ars Nova’s Play Group, At Play, The Living Newspaper, Old Vic New Voices, and “Naked Radio,” a monthly podcast produced by Naked Angels.  B.A. Bard College, M.F.A. Columbia University.

ANDREW NEISLER (Director) is a Brooklyn-based theatre-artist and Ars Nova’s 2014 Director-in-Residence. Recent directing credits: Game Play (Ars Nova), Byuioo (Pipeline Theatre Company, Judson Church), Shoot the Freak (Paradise Factory), Tape (Strasberg Institute), Clown Bar (Pipeline), Folk Wandering (Ars Nova/Joe’s Pub)Bebe Zahara Benet’s Creature (XL Cabaret). ABOUT THE TEAM

CAROLYN MRAZ (Scenic Design) is a Brooklyn-based set designer. Recent New York credits include: The Hatmaker’s Wife (Playwright’s Realm); The (*) Inn (Target Margin); SPACEMAN (Incubator Arts); Romeo and Juliet (Shakespeare Society/HPAC); Life is Happening to Us Again (A Host of People); and The Puppet Show (The Bushwick Starr). Carolyn is an Oberlin alum with an MFA from NYU Tisch, associate set designer at the O’Neill National Playwrights Festival, and associated artist of Target Margin Theater.

JOE CANTALUPO (Lighting Design) is a New York City-based designer; fixtures, stage, and live events. International credits include Coram Boy, Angels in America (UK); The Fall & Rise of the Phoenix (South Africa, Asst.). Other credits include Theater for the New City, The New Ohio, R.Evolucion Latina (BC/EFA), Multistages, Marymount Manhattan, The Lee Strasberg Institute, North Shore Music Theatre and Williamstown. BART CORTRIGHT (Video Design) is a NYC-based theater designer. Recent work includes: The Old Man and the Old Moon (Gym at Judson, Soho Playhouse); All the Rage (Playwrights Horizons); La Brea, Baby Screams Miracle (Clubbed Thumb); Barbarous Nights (Invisible Dog); Party in the USA, Victor Frange presents: Gas (Incubator Arts Project); Illustrated Man (St. Ann’s Warehouse). Animation and Assistant work includes Here Lies Love, The Last Five Years, Bring it On, Magic/Bird and Newsies.

NOAH MEASE (Prop Design) Recent props credits include Eager to Lose and The Netflix Plays (Ars Nova); Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 (Kazino); Blood Play (The Bushwick Starr); and Women or Nothing (Atlantic). His play Republic, created with Hoi Polloi, will premiere this spring. ASHLEY RODBRO (Production Stage Manager) is a stage manager, director and producer. Select stage management credits include: The Wii Plays, Missed Connections (Ars Nova); Seven Minutes in Heaven (Colt Coeur); Next Thing You Know (CAP 21); and most recently Shida by Jeanette Bayardelle. Directing credits include Brenda, Scarlett Fever (NY Fringe); Beyond the iChatter and I’m From Outer Space (Ars Nova’s ANT Fest). As a producer, she is working to develop Bloodsong of Love by Joe Iconis.
