ABOUT THE SHOW
It’s Christmas Eve and news of Santa Claus’ sudden death has thrown the North Pole into chaos. Elves and Reindeer riot in the streets, the Gingerbread House of Commons has crumbled and Mrs. Claus boarded a southbound Polar Express leaving the denizens of The North Pole shell shocked. Amidst the turmoil the only institution with the fortitude to hold a makeshift memorial for their beloved Santa is the North Pole Botany Society. And the only building with electricity and a fully stocked bar is Ars Nova. Join the members of the North Pole Botany Society as they come together to sing, dance, eulogize and perhaps find the true meaning of Christmas.
ABOUT THE ARTISTs
ON THE ROCKS THEATRE CO. is a California-born, New York-bred company comprised of longtime collaborators Christopher Ford and Dakota Rose. Through a rigorous blending of humor and heart, camp and poignancy and with a rich visual aesthetic drawing on a wide range of mid-century Americana, On The Rocks create wholly original work that tells the stories of imperfect characters making their way in uncertain worlds. With a recurring crew of performers, musicians and dancers, they have made McBeth (2010), Wolfert (2015), The White Stag Quadrilogy (2016), FRED (2017) and their annual holiday bar pageant, Edelweiss (2017 & 2018). They are currently a commissioned artist as well as a Company-In-Residence at Ars Nova. ontherockstheatre.com.
