Drew Anderson:

Ready For Bed

Wednesday, April 3 @ 8PM

Created & Performed by Drew Anderson

Directed by Ayala Skopp

Featuring Rebecca O’Neal & Julia Shiplett

Drew Anderson is gay/exhausted. Ready for Bed will take you on an intimate journey into the life and (very) minimal success of a young man who is ready to retire. Join Drew for a gorgeous evening of stand-up, film and music about Mandy Moore in old lady theater makeup. He will be joined by special guests Rebecca O’Neal and Julia Shiplett. Can you even imagine?

DREW ANDERSON is a comic/writer based in Brooklyn. He has performed all around the country including the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, Brooklyn Comedy Festival and New York Comedy Festival. His writing has been featured on the NPR show Music&Stories and he currently contributes writing to Reductress, McSweeney’s and the popular game Cards Against Humanity. He co-hosts the monthly TimeOut NY Critic Pick, STEVIE (a comedy show) at Union Hall with Sam Taggart & Marcia Belsky. Drew was a cast member of Handmaids Tale: the Musical, which after a sold-out run in Brooklyn, played at the Kennedy Center for the Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival. He is thrilled to return to Ars Nova.

AYALA SKOPP (Director) is a New York-based writer and filmmaker with exquisite taste. She has written for Reductress and has done The Artist’s Way twice (thank you). Ms. Skopp is thrilled to be directing the first solo show by a gay man in New York City. She would like to thank her arch enemy Drew Anderson for being her muse.

Ars Nova gets to know a wide range of artists each year by inviting them into our home, giving them free reign of our state-of-art toys and inviting you to see what happens in these one-night-only performances. See who’s caught our eye.
