ABOUT THE SHOW
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
MICHAEL + PATRICK make plays, performances and videos about their mutual obsessions. Their pieces draw on a range of material like modern drama, reality television, American method acting, technology, dance and original text. Underlying the duo’s work is a constant investigation into theatrical form — how to subvert and manipulate it — and theater’s relationship to the other media that dominates our lives: television, Instagram, TikTok, FaceTime and Hollywood movies. Their work has been seen at New York Theater Workshop Next Door (This American Wife), Ars Nova’s ANT Fest, the Exponential Festival in Brooklyn, Wesleyan University, Hamilton College (A Doll’s House, Part 3) and Yale Cabaret. They work with Ariel Sibert and Catherine María Rodríguez.
MICHAEL BRESLIN (Creator, Performer) is a New York-based theater maker, originally from not-quite-suburban New Jersey. In addition to his work with Patrick, he is currently developing his play Avital, about gay power and the academy. Other credits include work with Jeremy O. Harris (the feels kms…) and Em Weinstein (Arden, “Candace”). He holds an MFA in dramaturgy and dramatic criticism from Yale School of Drama, where he is in-residence as a doctoral candidate. BA, Hamilton College. michaelstevenbreslin.com.
PATRICK FOLEY (Creator, Performer) is an actor and writer working in theater, film and TV. He has performed at New York Theater Workshop, Ars Nova, Incubator Arts, Judson Memorial Church, the Tank, Chautaqua Theatre Company, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Yale Rep and more. He was awarded the Constance Welch Memorial Scholarship at Yale School of Drama where he received an MFA in Acting in 2018. He also holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. patrickmfoley.com.
CATHERINE MARÍA “CAT” RODRÍGUEZ (Performer) serves collaboration, community and lqqks wherever the art takes her and whatever stage it’s in. Cat’s craft entails bringing discernment to decision-making and Joy to the process. Black / Latinx feminisms as well as collectivist organizing methods fundamentally inform her arts practice and pathways through the world. She’s a “people person” with a politic and a love for the ridiculous. A freelance artist, she considers herself a nomad but always names New Orleans and Nicaragua home. Past creds: The Public, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, O’Neill National Playwrights’ Conference, NYTW Next Door, Ars Nova ANT Fest, The Old Globe, Two River Theater, Yale Rep, Baltimore Center Stage, El Círculo Teatral (México), Borderlands and Steppenwolf, among others. catlikemeow.com.
