Let’s dive in!

THE IN-PERSON CULMINATION
OF THE ARS NOVA EXPERIENCE!

OCTOBER – NOVEMBER 2021
The Ars Nova Hub,
511 West 54th Street

Created by TEDDY BERGMAN, SAM CHANSE & AMINA HENRY
Directed & Developed by TEDDY BERGMAN
Written by SAM CHANSE & AMINA HENRY

In November 2020, two childhood friends began a correspondence that documented and shaped a singular chapter of their lives. Their bond, forged as a pair of young women of color in a small town in Oregon, was pushed to the limit as they tested new ways of living in present-day America.

P.S. has delivered this intimate storytelling directly into the audience’s hands, as they’ve received these letters sent between these two friends in real-time.  This durational theatrical journey has borne witness to each of them drawn to the edge of a dangerous extreme. And now, this correspondence culminates in a live, in-person theatrical event. Join us for this unique theatrical experience welcoming audiences back to Ars Nova for the first time for a cathartic reckoning of the historic period we’ve endured.

A World Premiere Off-Broadway Production

March – April 2022
Ars Nova at Greenwich House,
27 Barrow Street

By HEATHER CHRISTIAN
Directed by LEE SUNDAY EVANS

In this sweeping world premiere, composer Heather Christian imbues the classical oratorio with blues, gospel, jazz and soul. The result is an in-the-round fusion of music and theater, staged by Obie Award-winning director Lee Sunday Evans and featuring eighteen virtuosic singers and instrumentalists. Both otherworldly and achingly intimate, Oratorio for Living Things heralds Christian as an undeniable artistic force — and inspires us to reflect on the mystery of human experience, set against the vast scope of cosmic time.
