THE ARS NOVA PRODUCTION OF

SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS

By Bess Wohl Directed by Rachel Chavkin

Direct from its critically acclaimed engagement at The Pershing Square Signature Center,  SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS, an Ars Nova World Premiere, is hitting the road and coming to a city near you! It’s the quiet show that everyone is talking about, and now audiences across the country have a chance to see this uplifting and uproarious new play written by Drama Desk Award winner BESS WOHL (Pretty Filthy) and directed by Obie Award winner RACHEL CHAVKIN (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 ).

In the overwhelming quiet of the woods, six runaways from city life embark on a silent retreat. As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect. Filled with awkward and insightful humor, this unique and compassionate new play asks how we address life’s biggest questions when words fail us.
