Even though the Digital Love crew played ANT FEST 08 to a rousing conclusion last night, you can still enjoy some festival fun over at 12seconds.tv, where Jason taped micro-updates on the ANT FEST happenings of the day in his own inimitable style.

The annual Ars Nova holiday party celebrates the artists and performances from the past year with plenty of refreshment, fully themed decor, and a review-like stage show. Picture rapid-fire snippets, cameos, and even awards commemorating the Ars Nova run that was. So it always ends up getting delightfully crazy. Here's a little number from our awesome video guru Tim to show you what the party (and 2008!) was like (watch in HD here!):

The street's littered with pine needles and 2009 is several days old, but for our money nothing beats the first-week-back blues like holiday nostalgia. Especially when Mr. Joe Iconis, our 2008 Composer-in-Residence, has uploaded an amazing YouTube playlist of THE JOE ICONIS CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR, which he performed at Ars Nova way back on Dec 17 (2008!). Check out the whole thing, but here's the grand finale in its full glory (watch for the blizzard brewing around 1:40):
The reason for the season, no? We also wanted to share a present that our old friend Chris Sauve drew for us while waiting at the airport. We don't miss that maddening part of the holidays, but this is awesome:

As the man on the -- ahem -- sill explains, we're excited to add video to our previously text-based blogging as we endeavor to show you more great Nova happenings. After covering Billy Eichner, the Zipper tragedy, geese, a Johnny Gallagher mishap, and plenty of corny (silly?) introductions in our first minute, who's to say what we'll film next?

Apologies for the blog silence this week, loyal Sillizens. It's been delightfully crazy around here as we entered the home stretch on our packed February schedule. We'll round up the action for you next week (don't forget to keep on Twitter in the meantime!).
We do have some Friday treats for you, though. First up is a new video from Jason, our Artistic Director, who's still on a hippie high after experiencing HAIRY THE MUSIKAHL at Zum Schneider last night. You know you can't resist the t-shirt!
We also wanted to make good on our promise to let you laugh along with Tony Carnevale's deconstruction of our colorful copy. Points taken, all in good fun of course:
And finally, we just couldn't resist revisiting the many sweet things the amazing Johnny Gallagher had to say about Ars Nova during his show in January. Can't beat the warm, fuzzy feelings on this frigid Friday!
We'll be hunkering down to prepare for spring sexiness in just a few days, so come visit us this weekend as we close out our quarterly series programming!
RADIO PLAY (a world premiere from Reggie Watts and Tommy Smith) works its magic tonight and Saturday, and A MONUMENTAL EVENING WITH MILLER AND TYSEN (a songwriting duo spectacular) plays on Monday.

Just wanted to leave you with the latest two videos from Artistic Director Jason's growing body of video work - the ideal prelude to your weekend! First up is his ode to the amazing Our Hit Parade and V.I.D.S. crews (seriously, pass this along to Ellen if you run into her):
Next is his account of a glorious night in the presence of the Barracuda faithful and Sherry Vine, yet another illustration of how important it is to support innovative local artists (like Arias with a Twist) when the opportunities to do so are tragically disappearing by the day.

We've got some exciting vlog entries from Artistic Director Jason Eagan to share with you as this week comes to a close. Just today we received word from Tommy Smith about an exciting new project he's working on with Reggie Watts, building off of their world premiere of Radio Play here at Ars Nova last month. Here's the news from Jason:
