(Parkland/Weathers) is a nesting doll double-bill of sci-fi folk music concerts that unpacks the lives and relationship of singer-songwriters Rags Parkland and Beaux Weathers. In the 2200s, music is their best shot at winning over a world that insists only one of them is human.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
RICK BURKHARDT (Rick Burkhardt, Accordion) is an Obie-winning composer, playwright, performer and director. Works include The Panels, Campfire Requiem, You: My Mother, Storm Still, Three Pianos and Great Hymn of Thanksgiving / Conversation Storm. He has performed with artists such as Pete Seeger, the Indigo Girls, Holly Near and Utah Phillips. His original songs have been featured on NPR’s “Morning Edition” and Pacifica’s “Democracy Now”. ANDREW R. BUTLER (Rags Parkland) is a composer, writer and performer. With Andrew Farmer he wrote Finn the Fearless (Theatre Aspen, Polyphone Festival), Blessing (PHTS commission), Edward Tulane (TheatreWorksUSA commission) and American Cryptids (Civilians R&D). JORDAN FEIN (Director) is a Brooklyn based theater and opera director. His work has been produced and developed at Abrons Art Center, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Here Arts Center, Incubator Arts Project, Joe’s Pub at The Public Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival (2014 Boris Sagal Fellowship), Bard College, Oberon: ART, Philly Fringe Arts, Curtis Opera Theatre, Opera Philadelphia and Santa Fe Opera. jordanfein.net.
JESSIE LINDEN (Drums) is a drummer and percussionist hailing originally from Cleveland, OH and currently residing in NYC. She can often be heard at various music venues around the city, as well as at Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway. Last year, Jessie performed in Manhattan Concert Production’s The Secret Garden at David Geffen Hall, and this past winter, toured England playing percussion for Ramin Karimloo. She is a graduate of Ithaca College.
MAYA SHARPE (Beaux Weathers) is a performer, writer and filmmaker. She has received her BFA in Musical Theater from Emerson College as well as an MFA in Filmmaking with an emphasis in cinematography from The New York Film Academy. mayasharpe.com.
DEBBIE CHRISTINE TJONG (Ess Pinvint, Bass) is a singer, multi-instrumentalist and actress.
